People argue over this subject endlessly, some people believe everything is explained by Bernouuli, some say circulation, some say Newton. At the end of the day who cares, we know that kites do fly and so long as we know what things to chage to get the desired effect we've got all we need.

Zealots for any one theory aside, a kite probably uses all of these mechanisms to fly. Rather than try to be a pseudo expert here I'll leave this section to people who really know what theyre talking about:
